Jacob Kisling settled in the area of Fall Creek Township of Henry County that became Mechanicsburg, Indiana with his father and brothers. The exact date of settlement is not known, but March 1827 is often quoted in family histories as the date when Jacob and his family arrived and started clearing land.

Narrative

According to the original plat of Henry County and Fall Creek Township map, the "Old" Keesling Cemetery is placed right in the middle of Jacob's property. Jacob is also buried there along with quite a few others.
