The Mechanicsburg cemetery is located in township section #24 in the SW corner of Fall Creek Township. It is located just east of the Henry/Madison County line on US #36. The first burial here supposedly took place in the early 1830s. The cemetery has had several additions added to it over the years. There are well over 1400 burials recorded here.
The following list is made up of three different recordings of tombstones from this cemetery that were compiled sometime in the 1960s. I have no idea who the recorders were. There have been many burials since then that are not on this list.
At one time there was a ME Church located just north of the cemetery on the other side of the road. On 17 Feb 1844 the following were appointed trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Fall Creek; George Keesling, William Alexander, James Wisehart, William Thompson and Jacob Mogle.
For awhile in the late 1990s the cemetery was getting in bad shape and not being maintained on a normal maintenance schedule, but today with a new cemetery board, it is receiving good care and is still used quite often.

The land that the cemetery currently resides on was first owned by John Kisling (Keesling) Jr., Son of John Kisling who fought in the Revolutionary War and whos father was the immigrant for this line of the family, Hans Jacob Kisling from Germany. Han Jacob immigrated in 1749 on the ship FANE and arrived in Philidelphia on October 17, 1749.
