Narrative
The History of Mechanicsburg:
"Elihu Swain, Indiana 1851, had the house built which he occupied until his death in 1875. John R. Elliott was one of the carpenters. Mr. Swain was one of the three men who built the saw mill. For a number of years he was in partnership with N. R. Elliott in a dry goods store. Mr. Swain died 1900 (should be 1890)."
[2001 KLS note: In the first sentence it states until his death in 1875. This is the date which is on his gravestone.]
